Another look at our French gardens
This year, the national theme is Rendez-vous in the Gardens is «La Vue» and invites us to see things in a new light. The Château de Hautefort invites you to do just that literally : by multiplying the angles, the heights and the moments, until nightfall.
A private evening in our French gardens
From 6 p.m., our head gardener will welcome you at the drawbridge for an intimate stroll through the various flowerbeds. Close to the plants, David will share the art and technique of French topiary: this precise gesture that sculpts volumes and designs perspectives.
After a tour of the castle's floors to see our gardens from above, you will be invited to join the main courtyard, where your dinner will be served near the balustrade, offering you a breathtaking view of the candlelit south parterre.

Self-guided tour of the castle
Your ticket grants you access to the castle from the afternoon. Take your time to explore the collections and soak in the atmosphere before the evening begins.
18:00 — Meet at the drawbridge
Start of private guided tour
David, the castle gardener, welcomes you at the drawbridge for an intimate stroll. He knows every flowerbed, every hedge, every vista as if he had designed them himself.
In the gardens
Hedge trimming immersion and demonstration
Up close with the plants, David shares the art and technique of French-style pruning – that precise gesture which sculpts volumes and draws perspectives.
Climbing up to the castle
The gardens from above
The visit ascends the floors to discover what few visitors see: the sunken gardens, their geometric patterns revealed by the height, the perfect symmetry of the south parterre.
As night falls
Dinner in the courtyard of honour
The tables are laid out along the railing of the main courtyard, facing the south parterre lit by candlelight. The chateau is yours, the view is breathtaking.
