Le parc à l’anglaise est né au XVIIIème siècle sous l’influence de philosophes et d’artistes comme le poète Alexander Pope qui prône le retour à une nature sauvage et poétique. À Hautefort, elle s’offre à vous sur plus de 30 hectares !

Choulot removes the 17th-century French-style parkth In the 19th century, the castle was converted into an English-style park, punctuated by numerous fabriques, which have now disappeared. This green setting is an extension of the visit, after the discovery of the flats and gardens.
A landscaped park for strolling and relaxing
The landscaped grounds of château de Hautefort are ideal for relaxing and playing, with varied views over the surrounding countryside and villages, flower beds, shady paths and remarkable trees, such as the majestic Cedar of Lebanon.
The pergola of tuyas
The Canadian cedar pergola was planted here in 1950, at the instigation of Baroness de Bastard. In the shade of this unusual plant tunnel stretching over
At almost 70 metres high, it's always a great place to cool off. The openings punctuating the pergola echo the architecture of the main gallery, with its elegant arcades. Alongside it on the esplanade, a large boxwood parterre replaces the former outbuildings destroyed at the end of the 19th century.
